It is time again for Canton Trade Days in Canton Texas ~ it is one of my very favorite times of the month because I get to go shop to my hearts content for 2 days ~ it is a giant giant flea market but there are also alot of yummy new treasures too ~
Wednesdays are pretty much completely flea market things so I took some pictures ~
When I was taking pictures today, I was looking at things that there were alot to choose from ~ tons of chairs to choose from ~
Ladders to paint ~
Old Chippy Doors
And some of my favorite things, architectural pieces ~
I will take some more tomorrow of my favorite places ~
I spent all day yesterday at one of my favorite places, Canton Texas ~ If you read my blog very often, you will see that I go every month because I LOVE to go through treasures !!! It is a giant flea market that has been there since the early 1900's or maybe even earlier ~ there are alot of new things in one huge area and flea market things in another GIGANTIC area ~
These are pictures of of one treasure filled space called The Veranda ~
This is one picture of just some of the pretty things I got that I will be listing on my website starting today ~
I went to one of my favorite places this weekend, and visited one of my new precious friends Linda at Linda's Blue Gate ~ she has a website and also has a spot at "Canton's First Monday" where she sells once a month ~ These are just a few pics of her wonderful pieces she has created ~ You can see another blog post with some more pictures of Linda's things at this yummy blog, Cherry Hill Cottage ~
I have always wanted to go to the Rose Bowl Flea Market and finally got a chance to this weekend ~ The only bummer part was that I didn't realize it is Sunday only and my flight back home left Sunday afternoon ~ sooooo I only had about 3 hours there which is very much not enough time because it is HUGE ~ It was alot of fun to see the difference in it and the Canton Texas Flea market that I go to ~ I was thrilled to see alot of Shabby Cottage Chic since that is my favorite ~ I zoomed through there as fast as I could but was dying to go up and down every aisle and take in every space full of treasures ~
I loved all of the whites, pinks and greens ~
There were tons of chandeliers and I really wanted to take them home but not sure they would be an airline "carry-on" ~
This frame was gorgeous !!!
Well there is always next month and I won't be scheduling a flight home on Sunday ~~
Canton was amazing this month !!! I just love the Canton First Monday flea market ~ I started taking pictures the first day I was there and then the second day my battery died ~ there was no way that I was going to leave to go buy batteries so I just didn't take any more ~
It kind of was funny this month because it seemed like people just had a BUNCH of certain things ~ Like this picture of hand mixers ~
Or this one of old mantels and beds ~ I would love to have had a spot for each one of those things because this was the place to get them ~
This man had just tables of stuff ~ it was so funny because each little thing you had to ask him the price of ~ I think if I had tables full like that, I would sell it by the jar full or something like that ~ this was the perfect spot to find bangles and baubles galore ~
Can you tell we are in Texas ???
This guy had the most amazing OLD stuff ~ these are old ledgers that dated in the 1910's to 1920's ~ it was fun to look through them at how people used to keep records ~ Now I am kicking myself for not picking up one ~
Well that is all because of the dead camera ~ soooo..... ta ta for now !
Today was my monthly trip to Canton Texas where I junk to my heart's content ~
If you are a junkin gal at heart you would just love First Monday Trade Days because people come from all over to sell ~ There is alot of wonderful new things but my very favorite is the old vintage stuff and there is tons of it ~
Sometimes it can get kind of stressful because everyone knows where to find the "good" junk ~ Junkers mean business when they want something :)
One thing I learned pretty darn quick is that you have to have a cart ~ I use to carry arm loads of stuff back and forth to my car ~ that did not last long before I sprung for my handy dandy cute pink lined cart ~
You would not believe how many sellers drive up like this ~ I crack up when I picture them driving down the road, stuff has to fly off ~ Seriously how does it all stay on ???
A couple of weeks ago I went to Canton Texas for my favorite shopping at First Monday ~ I always visit the "Girls Gone Junkin" shop and find some really fun and unique shabby cottage chic treasures ~ This month I just had to get this skate because I thought it was so cute ~ of course it is pink, has glitter and is altered which I love ~ So now I am on the hunt for some treasures to alter ~ Skate now for sale here ~
I also started new packaging for the German glass glitter that I sell on my website ~ it matches some of the other jars that I have available for organizing craft goodies ~
I am back from spending some wonderful time with my mom, dad and sister ~ we spent part of our time together camping in east Texas at Canton, one of our favorite huge flea markets ~ we got to camp right there and just spent hours and hours browsing all of the flea market goodies and also other beautiful shabby chic things ~ I painted some of the things I found today and just listed them on my website ~ I also found alot of old beautiful rose china and so many other goodies ~
This is just a sneak peek of more to come this week!
