  • ~ Debi Coules Garden Signs ~

~ Debi Coules Garden Signs ~

I am sooo happy to bring to Katies Rose Cottage another amazing rose artist, Debi Coules ~

Each of Debi's garden signs are prints made from one of her original paintings on antique wooden panels. It is almost impossible to tell the difference between the original and the print! Each print is masterfully produced on high quality Archival Paper and using Archival Inks to ensure a lifetime of beauty. Each Plaque is hand cut, fully painted and is approximately 3/4 inches deep. Numerous steps have been taken to create a truly BEAUTIFUL work of art with that vintage appeal and charm. Hung by itself or in a grouping it will certainly bring that touch of Romantic Garden to your home. Each print is mounted on board, sealed for protection and comes ready to hang and each is signed and dated on the back by Debi Coules.

I have added a new category so it is easier to find these gorgeous items, it is called "Guest Artists" ~

  • Recreating for Make Mine Pink "Pink Friday"

Recreating for Make Mine Pink "Pink Friday"

Today I spent the day getting ready for the Make Mine Pink, "The Garden Path", Pink Friday event ~

I wanted to take you along so that you could see the journey of recreating a flea market find into something special for your cottage home ~

The first thing you do is find what you want to work on ~ it is getting harder and harder to find these awesome totes like the large one that I have shown ~ It is very old so the wood is rough and weathered ~ I really don't know what it was used for but I think it would be perfect for putting your flowers in as you cut them and get ready for a bouquet ~

The next step is to glue on embellishments if you want to ~ I love them because they add such a shabby chic look ~

Then you prime your piece with a good primer ~ my very favorite is Kilz oil based because it covers so well ~

After that is dry, which takes a few steps to do all sides, you paint on whatever color you would like and when that dries you distress it with sandpaper ~ I use flat paint because I like the look of it ~

I love it when the weather is sunny because it makes the best painting days !!

The items that I have shown you, along with other garden treasures, will be available on my website for Pink Friday ~

Have fun shopping or creating !!

  • Farm Living in Kansas

    Farm Living in Kansas

We are in Kansas for some antiquing and just hanging out at our friends house ~

They live in an old house in a small town that doesn't even have a manned Post Office ~ It is fun to visit and go to the little towns around and shop at the antique stores ~

The guys shot their guns so we had to go out and be Annie Oakley which was kind of fun too ~

We made tons of salsa because their garden was overflowing with tomatoes ~ it is soooo yummy !!

We will be on our way home tomorrow but it has been fun !

  • The Feminine Home

    The Feminine Home

I have always admired Jo-Anne Coletti's beautiful talent

and now she has a magazine which I am so excited about.

    THE FEMININE HOME magazine embraces

the heart and soul of a woman.

It is a singular place where loveliness resides

    and the language of romance and poetry lives;

a home that coaxes an extraordinary life

that is enduring, purposeful and distinctly feminine.

    Flowers are painted with sweetness.

    Decorative flourishes, ornamental borders,

penned verses and tender poems all mingle

to orchestrate a pensive bucolic beauty.

    Cottons and velvets, crystal chandeliers

and whitewashed walls, scrubbed wooden floors,

    simple furnishings and objects from the garden;

these are the elements that make a romantic home.

This is a gorgeous, full color 128 page

magazine with thick, high quality paper,

with superb printing (Best I have seen)!

A special edition, one-time only magazine

    filled with beautiful romantic homes,

painted roses, poems, and inspiring devotionals

    to nurture a woman's soul.

You can go to the Vintage Rose Collection

to purchase it or for any questions.
